Ostara

Pronounced “oh-star-ah,” Ostara is a festival celebrating the coming of spring with the Spring Equinox, the time when the hours of light and dark are at equal length and are in perfectly equlilbrium. As a spring festival, plants and all new life act as the main symbols of this holiday.

For the first time, The Rooted Realm will host an Ostara workshop and ceremony where we will honor the Spring Equinox by potting fresh propagations in a variety of containers to bring spring inside.

Join us on Saturday, March 22 at Rooted HQ for this first-ever propagation party. RSVP below!

Can’t participate with us but still want to honor the holiday? Here’s some “Subtle Sabbats” rituals from Lindsay Squire’s The Witch of the Forest’s Guide to Natural Magick to inspire your day of Ostara:

  • begin planning for a new project

  • bring spring flowers inside your house to brighten your space

  • go on a nature walk and look for signs of spring

  • open your windows to let fresh air in

  • sweep away bad energy out your front door

Imbolc

Pronounced “ee-molc,” Imbolc is a classic Gaelic festival that marks the passing of winter and the coming of spring. It traditionally symbolizes rebirth, awakening, cleansing, purifying, and patience.

For the first time, The Rooted Realm will host an Imbolc workshop and ceremony where we will honor St. Brigid and this sacred cross-quarter Sabbat by creating hand-wrapped herbal bundles for cleansing ourselves and our year to come.

Join us on Saturday, February 8th at 6:30pm at Rooted HQ for this first-ever herb-bundle workshop. RSVP below!

Can’t participate with us but still want to honor the holiday? Here’s some “Subtle Sabbats” rituals from Lindsay Squire’s The Witch of the Forest’s Guide to Natural Magick to inspire your night of Imbolc:

  • light candles to welcome back the sun (bonus points if you make or decorate your own candles!)

  • cleanse and purify your space with sage and other burnables

  • honor the goddess Brigid by indulging in dairy snacks (of course dairy-free and vegan substitutes are perfectly acceptable!) and/or by writing or reading poetry

  • get a new houseplant or repot one you already have

Manifest 2025

At the start of each year, The Rooted Realm is committed to bringing you a Manifest Spell Jar event. Beginning the year with setting an intention (not just a resolution) can be exceptionally helpful when it comes to reflecting each month or whenever you can.

Our intention with offering this workshop at the start of each year is to allow our returning Rooted guests the chance to see their manifesting practice grow as they place a new jar next to the previous each year.

An Evening for Lammas

An Evening for Lammas

Traditionally taking place on August 1st, Lammas celebrates the upcoming harvests and rituals were performed to promote healthy and bountiful harvests and fine weather to gather it in. It is a time to thank the gods (or your community, your family, and certainly yourself) for what was obtained. Lammas also acts as a reminder that autumn (and the winter that lies beyond) is close by.

For us today, Lammas can still celebrate the harvest of what we’ve been manifesting and/or curating for the past few weeks (since the Summer Solstice on June 20th). It represents a time to be thankful for what you’ve obtained from your hard work and to celebrate the hard work of others.

The Rooted Realm’s Lammas Harvest Festival will feature a NEW workshop:

Candle Painting and Crystaling

So join us on Saturday, August 3rd for this new workshop and the signature TRR space of intention-setting, community, and magic.

More details like time, location, and event pricing to come! Keep an eye on our socials for news.

Celebrate Midsomer

Just a few days past the Summer Solstice, The Rooted Realm hosted a signature Spell Jar Creation event centered around this magical time. Starting with on-theme refreshments and a guided meditation, inviting us to set an intention, our guests then filled their apothecary jars with an array of dried ingredients and crystals, hand-selected to honor Midsomer. These jars serve as a tangible reminder of the intention you set during this event.

Channel the Scorpio Full Moon Spell Jar Event

Every month has eight moon phases, each with their own meanings and ancient wisdom that is only added or enhanced depending on the Zodiac sign the moon is moving into. Scorpio is one of the strongest among the twelve signs and a Full Moon promises the height of her power, meaning this spell jar event happened during a powerful night.

This Scorpio Full Moon calls us to recognize the transitions in our lives. This lunation brings to light hidden truths and forces us to confront uncomfortable realities, while simultaneously offering us the opportunity for immense personal growth.

Honor the Divine Feminine Spell Jar Event

March is International Women’s History month, so TRR’s second event centered around the ancient understanding of the Divine Feminine. We asked our guests where they could soften, where they could invite more femininity and gentleness into their hearts and actions. The jars filled at this event remind us daily of the balance of masculine and feminine in each of us.

Manifest 2024 Spell Jar Event

On the final day of 2023, The Rooted Realm hosted their very first event, in which a small group of close friends gathered, under candlelight and around a large crystal ball, to set their intentions for the new year.

TRR guides, Addison and Shelby, researched and prepped diligently to make their first intention-setting event a success. Peek below at pictures from the event and a copy of our spell jar ingredient card to see what we’ve put in our jars!
